1952
The Seeds Are Planted
Late Mr. Noor Muhammad Aleemi enters the agriculture business in Hyderabad, Pakistan, beginning a family tradition that would span generations. His deep understanding of local farming and seed varieties becomes the foundation of everything to come.
1957
Kohenoor International Is Born
Kohenoor International is formally established as a seed company in Hyderabad, Pakistan. The name “Kohenoor” — meaning “Mountain of Light” — reflects the founder's ambition to bring the brilliance of Pakistan's agriculture to the world stage.
1970
First International Exports
Kohenoor begins its first international shipments, exporting premium seed varieties beyond Pakistan's borders. This pivotal step transforms the company from a domestic trader into an emerging global supplier of agricultural commodities.
1980
A New Generation Takes Charge
Malik Umar Hayat Noorani, son of the founder, assumes leadership as CEO. Under his direction, the company accelerates its local operations, modernizes processing methods, and lays the groundwork for a major international expansion.
1994
Full Export Focus
A major strategic push into international markets begins. Kohenoor establishes regular export channels to the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Asia — building long-term relationships with importers, distributors, and governments across 15+ countries.

Quality Certifications Achieved
The company achieves ISO 9001:2008 and HACCP certifications, formalizing the quality management systems that had been a hallmark of its operations. These certifications open doors to new markets with stringent import requirements.
2015
Alfalfa Seeds: Flagship Export
Alfalfa Seeds becomes Kohenoor's flagship export product, with dedicated marketing and a specialized website. The product gains recognition across the Gulf, North Africa, and Central Asia as a premium forage seed source from Pakistan.
2020
30+ Country Network
Kohenoor's export network expands to over 30 countries across 5 continents. The product line diversifies to include Himalayan Pink Salt, herbs, spices, oil seeds, sprouting seeds, and dried nuts — cementing the company as a multi-category agricultural exporter.

Digital Transformation
The third generation joins the business, bringing digital innovation, a completely redesigned global web presence, and new approaches to international trade. Kohenoor embraces technology while staying true to the quality principles established nearly seven decades ago.
